Property Stress Indicators Dashboard Updated
The Property Stress Indicators Dashboard has been updated to make it more accurate after each update due to the changes being made to various data files.
I have noticed that when updating the Stress Indicators each month, the data files are not always consistent.
For example, the data file for mortgage approvals appears to have historical updates. Mortgage approvals, when I entered them for, say, Feb 2026, were 51,000; then, when March came around, Feb had changed to 51,105. Correct at the time of entering it, but over time it gets gradually more incorrect.
Solution
To ensure the data is always up to date, I have rewritten all the importers. Instead of just getting the latest figures, I now upload the entire data set every single month or quarter. As a result, you may see regular changes on some of the stress indicators.
That will be due to the historical data changing by whichever government agency is providing the data.
Importantly, the data will always reflect the data that is provided, instead of going stale over time.
