Right now, I was loath to add more data to the site.  Right when I need to be spending time improving what is already there.  The rental market is more interesting these days.  The Renters' Rights Act in England and ongoing issues in Scotland, with rent controls still in focus.  Wales and Northern Ireland are experiencing increased rents too, with calls in both areas for stronger protections for tenants.

Given the above, I wanted to have some clear data to see how this develops over the next couple of years in numbers.  And that is why there is a new rental section.  You can find it here.  I have to admit,  I was surprised when I saw the data on how rents are rising.  I mean, I knew they were just not as steeply in recent times.

The data focuses on private rental costs. All areas covered, UK, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.  

What you will find

• The dashboard shows rental costs over time for the UK and all nations
• Each nation has its own page that shows the average cost for the nation
  • 1 bed rental costs
  • 2 bed rental costs
  • 3 bed rental costs
  • 4+ bed rental costs
  • Detached, Semi-detached, Terraced, Flat/Maisonette costs

It's a decent dataset for now.  I will improve the look over time, much like all the other parts of the site which I should be doing instead of adding more data!
