Lots of code updates completed!

Yes, I have been quiet again, been doing lots of updates, which of course means there may be a few issues.

I am not a professional coder, and although I am trying to get AI involved and help more, I don't trust it enough yet to rely on it.  Over the past few weeks, I have been making a lot of behind-the-scenes updates and refactoring code to improve performance.  For those interested, the issue with a site like this with a database holding over 100GB of data, one wrong turn and a page or search takes minutes rather than the preferred < 2 seconds to load.

There are a few new features I want to add to the site, but I quickly realised my existing code was poorly written in the sense that it was affecting what I wanted to do, so I had to change it.  That is now done.

All the changes I have made, and there are a lot, have been pushed to the live server this morning.

Given the number of changes made, I am going to let things settle and do nothing else with the site (the live version at least) until I make sure all is running as expected. I know many of the frequent visitors will let me know if not :)

While I take a breather from all the coding, I am going to spend the next week or two trying to get ChatGPT and Codex to help me more and speed this process up!

I am the owner of this site. If there is anything wrong, it's on me! If you want to get in touch, please email me at [email protected]. The site has grown so quickly, I honestly didnt expect the interest or the support, so thank you to everyone who has dropped me a line. More is coming, and I am spending time making it simpler, easier to understand, and also updating it regularly.
