Lots of updates in progress
There are lots of updates coming; this post sets out what they are and when to expect them. These are based on feedback to date received from many users over at LinkedIn.
Firstly, apologies for not replying to recent messages as quickly as I normally would. I’ve been tied up rewriting parts of the codebase, setting up a new development system, and juggling a few other things, it’s been a hectic few days!
Based on a lot of helpful feedback (thank you!), especially from people on LinkedIn, I’ve mapped out the next set of updates
Upcoming: Major Property Search Upgrade (England & Wales)
This is the biggest change coming in the next release.
- The current postcode search will remain, but instead of returning a broad list of properties, the system will now focus on the specific property and its type (flat, semi-detached, detached, etc.). This means you’ll get far more relevant, property-type-specific comparisons for the area.
- New search options are being added: you’ll be able to search by town, city, and district, with results tailored to the area you select.
I’m aiming to have this completed by the end of the week (7th December).
Next on the List (after the search upgrade)
- Enhancements to the Market Stress Dashboard
- A complete rewrite of the affordability calculator
- Adding Scotland and Northern Ireland data (I’ve found some sources, not as detailed as England/Wales, but certainly better than nothing at this stage)
I’ll share more details on these once the new property search is live.

I am the owner of this site. If there is anything wrong, it's on me! If you want to get in touch, please email me at [email protected]. The site has grown so quickly, I honestly didnt expect the interest or the support, so thank you to everyone who has dropped me a line. More is coming, and I am spending time making it simpler, easier to understand, and also updating it regularly.

Updates are done; however, not happy with the performance of the new pages, so trying to work through that. If I release as is it will take too long for the pages to load, don't want that.
This is now live, running much better, almost instant now. The current postcode search will remain, but instead of returning a broad list of properties, the system will now focus on the specific property and its type (flat, semi-detached, detached, etc.). This means you’ll get far more relevant, property-type-specific comparisons for the area.
