Have a great Christmas and happy new year

A PropertyResearch.uk update covering site improvements, performance tweaks, AI insights, better charts, improved search, a 2026 roadmap, and a Christmas message.

I’ve said it before (several times, possibly too many), but I genuinely appreciate all the support and suggestions since I started this site. I never expected it to get anywhere near as much attention as it has. What began as a small idea to solve a fairly small problem has somehow turned into… not a small site. And yes, there’s more to come.

Over the next few weeks

I’ll be spending some time on the site, though not in a “shiny new features” kind of way. This is more about tidying up, making things faster where I can, and generally reducing the number of things that annoy me when I look at it. I want to improve the design, make things clearer, and add better explanations so people actually know what they’re looking at.

Then in 2026

Quite a lot, actually. There are already a few sections quietly working in the background — you just can’t see them yet. Highlights include:

  • Limited Scottish property data – “Limited” is the key here. There isn’t much freely available, and paying the Scottish Government ~£1k a month for more isn’t currently on my wish list.
  • AI integration – not for buzzwords, but to help explain what you’re seeing on specific pages and add some context.
  • A completely rewritten Mortgage Affordability calculator – I don’t like the current one. This is largely a personal grievance.
  • Improved visuals – the charts are fine, but they could be better. And less annoying.
  • Better searching – getting to the data you actually want with less effort.

That’s just a small preview of what’s coming.

Until then, I hope you all have a great Christmas and New Year when it comes. We could probably all do with a break at this point 🙂

I am the owner of this site. If there is anything wrong, it's on me! If you want to get in touch, please email me at [email protected]. The site has grown so quickly, I honestly didnt expect the interest or the support, so thank you to everyone who has dropped me a line. More is coming, and I am spending time making it simpler, easier to understand, and also updating it regularly.
